Tuesday, January 18, 2011 Ft. Henry Dam Sullivan County, Tennessee 8:15 am 10:30 am 30 Degrees Cloudy I took a trip to the trail below Ft.Henry Dam this morning to see if the tough little White-eyed Vireo was still hanging around. I found it at the trail head in a tree on the left side of the trail, near the water. It was hanging out with four or five Yellow-rumped Warblers. Other notable birds seen: American Wigeon Brown Thrasher Winter Wren Carolina Wren American Kestrel Swamp Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Belted Kingfisher Red-tailed Hawk Ruby-crowned Kinglet Eastern Towhee On my way home, I was alerted of the sightings at Musick's Campground. Was glad to see the Red-throated Loon and Long-tailed Ducks were still there. It turned out to be some pretty good birding this morning. Gary Cooper Bristol, Virginia
