Watauga and Wilbur Lakes

I madeÂa morning  and afternoon trips Âup to Watauga Dam overlook today.

This morning, I first stopped at Wilbur Lake. There I ran into ÂBrookie and
Jean Potter as they were heading out.

Wilbur Lake Highlights:

Mallard (15)

Ring-necked Duck (2)

Lesser Scaup (4)

Bufflehead (19)

Ruddy Duck (2)

IÂthen headed to Watauga Dam. There I ran into Darrel Wilder, who was already
on the birds.

Watauga Dam Morning Highlights: (Darrel Wilder's numbers)

There were maybe another 300 birds or more east of the d am (too far out to
even scope).

After class, I headed back to Watauga Dam and again met-up with Brookie and
Jean Potter. One gathering of 200+Âducks was all that was visible....but they
were a bit closer. Plus one clump of coots (being harrassed by a Bald Eagle).
