Today, March 22, I visited Warrior's Path State Park and the area below
Patrick Henry Dam in the late a.m. (after a bout of shopping). At the Park
Marina
I found one rough-winged swallow preening on an electrical line. After
observing it for a while, it flew north low over the lake. At the observation
area, above the dam, I found two tree swallows flight feeding overhead. On the
drive that goes down to and follows the Holston River below the dam, just
beyond
the dead end, I found 5 yellow-rumped warblers and a golden-crowned kinglet.
I will not report on the less interesting findings. John Moyle Glen Alpine
Road Kingsport Sullivan County
