Erwin Linear Park, and Hwy 81, Unicoi Co., TN

Dianne Draper and I walked from the Mc Donalds up past the ponds on the
linear park trail Wed. and found a few birds.
Bufflehead - 1
Solitary Sandpiper - 1
Tree Swallows
Northern Rough-winged Swallows - frequently landing on tree branches
close to the bridge giving good looks
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 1
Yellow-rumped Warblers
We also saw a Muskrat and a Ring-necked Snake.
Later we stopped near the River's=edge Restaurant on Hwy 81 to look for
Great Blue Herons on the nests, but didn't see any. We did however see
a Purple Martin over the Nolichucky River.
