Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens birded in Sullivan County, mostly in Kingsport, on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Highlights included eight species of ducks, plus a hybrid Mallard/American Black Duck found at Fort Patrick Henry Dam among 70 Mallards and a Great Blue Heron.

In addition:

Merlin (1) at Oak Hill Cemetery at about 3 p.m.

Bufflehead (2) at Warriors Path State Park

Riverfront Restaurant on the Holston River in Kingsport provided sightings of:
Northern Pintail (3)
Black-crowned Night Heron (4)
Spotted Sandpiper (1)
Gadwall (12)
American Wigeon (1)
Black Duck (6)
Wilson's Snipe (1)

Along the Holston River also found:
Common Coot- 50+
Double-crested Cormorant- 20
Lesser Scaup- 5
Ring-necked Duck- 2

Mallards, Canada Geese and Ring-billed Gulls, of course, were numerous.

We twice visited Pickens Bride/Crouch Road in Boones Creek in Wash. Co., and both times failed to find the Sandhill Cranes.
