Tom Hunter entertains crowd at BBC annual banquet Club member Tom Hunter gave an excellent talk and visual presentation to a gathering of 40 birders at the Bristol Bird Club's annual banquet held Friday night. He talked about birding in Ecuador. The meal of chicken stuffed with dressing along with wild rice and gravy, roast beef, side dishes and dessert was delicious and plentiful. Club treasurer Janice Martin was presented with a gorgeous photo of a molting female Northern Cardinal. It was taken as an award-winning photo by Bert Hale who also had it custom framed at Dollar General. Dr. John Moyle, who leads the BBC Rainforest Adventure program of international field trips, discussed the next trip which is being planned for Peru and the Amazon during 2010. It will be the third such trip. Past BBC President Dave Worley conducting door prizes for the group. The Worley and Martins have been the cornerstones of BBC door prizes for banquets and Christmas parties for more than a decade. Our young birds were with us tonight with Steele Creek Park Nature Center naturalist Charlie Parker at the far left. Chris O'Bryan, an under graduate research assistant in biology at Austin Peay State University, driving all afternoon from Clarksville (northwest of Nashville) to be on hand for the banquet. Former BBC treasure Lloyd Jones, minister at the Addilyn Memorial United Methodist Church, arranged for the banquet to be hosted for by the ladies of the church for the second year.
