western Greene County, including Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC), the 
Joachime Bible Refuge unit of Lick Creek Bottoms Wildlife Management Area 
(JBR), and numerous back roads in Midway, Mohawk, and Warrensburg

time spent: about 6.5 hours

A good day, with 60+ species of birds, 20 species of butterflies, and various 
other critters.  Highlights included

Great Egret (6 WMDC)
Green Heron (2 WMDC)
Red-tailed Hawk (5)
Solitary Sandpiper (3)
Eurasian Collared-Dove (adjacent to West Greene High School)
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Eastern Screech-Owl (Little Warrensburg Road)
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2)
Red-headed Woodpecker (4 adults and 4 juveniles on Green Road)
Eastern Wood-Pewee (2)
Great Crested Flycatcher
Eastern Kingbird (13)
White-eyed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Purple Martin (3)
Tree Swallow (96)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (at least 2)
Bank Swallow (834+, mostly in two large flocks on wires at JBR and nearby)
