Yesterday, Jan. 14, Gil Derouen, Jim Anderson, and Charles Moore birded some water areas in Sullivan County. Highlights, beginning along the "north" side of Boone Lake, along Minga, Hamilton, Muddy Creek, Sugar Hollow, and Buffalo Rds, including the Davis Marina:
Hooded Merganser           2

Ring-billed Gull           3
Kingfisher                 1
Am. Kestrel                1
Along this stretch, we saw at least 26 White-tailed Deer:

Weir Dam:

Pemberton Rd.:

At Musick's Campground, we met Rick Kight, Glen Eller, and Pete Range, who were already there.

In our discussions with Glen and Pete, they reported Black Ducks and 2 male Pintails at Rooty Branch Rd Beaver Pond
and Herring Gulls at Middlebrook Lake, in addition to what we saw.
