Carter County - Elizabethton, TN
Hart Road - North Pond
This afternoon, t here were quite a number of shorebirds on the small pond at
the north end of Hart Road in Elizabethton, TN. This pond looks like a good
one to keep an eye on!
Spotted Sandpiper (3)
Solitary Sandpiper (10)
Lesser Yellowlegs (2)
Semipalmated Sandpiper (2)
Least Sandpiper (19)
Directions to Hart Road from Elizabethton:
- Take Old Bristol Highway (SR37) at McDonalds (going north)
- Cross Watauga River and turn left on Watauga Road
- In about a mile take Sycamore Shoals Drive (on left)
- Just past the Elizabethton Animal Shelter, turn right onto Hart Road (t he
pond is on the right, near the end of Hart Road and the intersection with
Smalling Road)
* Caution: traffic usually comes down the hill (behind you) "way too fast
"!!!
