Here are bird observations passed along to me today by John Shumate.
With the exception of birds reported from Holston Mountain in Sullivan Co.,
all of John's records are for Shady Valley, Johnson Co., TN.

Wallace,
Just thought I would let you know about some more birds I have seen and heard.
04-02-12 Horned Grebe changing into summer plumage, it had the yellow ear tufts
and beginning chestnut color on the neck. At Buckles pond.
04-04-12 A. Woodcock in my driveway about 8:15pm.
04-09-12 Black-throated Green Warbler singing on the Johnson County side of
Holston Mt. This is first that I have heard this year.
04-10-12 Osprey flew over me in my driveway.
04-11-12 Whip-Poor-Will- 2 calling at Dogwood Bench on Holston Mt. 6:25am.
04-12-12 Whip-Poor-Will- 1 calling at Dogwood Bench on Holston Mt. 6:20am.
