I have been hearing cooing (not pishing) from the owl box over my drive way for several days. Yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon I checked it out and found two adult red morph (usedto be phased) screech owls in it. One was in a corner of the box and the other was setting on several downy young. I did not want to disturb them so did not move either. The adult did not cover all the young so there might have been several. Past experience has found four or perhaps five in a nest. If banding is an option it probably should be done by this week end. Arrangements must be made to ;have the grand urchins present. My band expired some time ago and the leading bander in the area said his had also. Loraine & Bert Hale Bluff City, TN his had also. ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
