Well I found the evidence; a cardinal met an untimely end near my feeder.

Subject: [Bristol-Birds] Screech Owl Update
I checked the box today 05-21-2010 and found that at least some of the
chicks have hatched out. The mother has her wing covering the owlets but you
can see in the picture I have attached the down feathers of one of them. It
also looks as if she has lined the box with her own feathers or a cardinal
met an untimely end. I will post more info when I gather it. Enjoy.
