At the second of four Saturday bird walks scheduled this month at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park, some good sightings included Bald Eagle, Osprey and Bay-breasted Warbler. The Osprey was "escorting" the eagle out of the area. Later, the Osprey was seen flying up the river with a large fish in its talons. Bryan Stevens and Jim D. Anderson with the Elizabethton Bird Club were joined by a former student of Gary Wallace's. Her first name was Tabatha, but I've forgotten her last name. She enjoyed a birding class she took with Gary at Milligan about a year ago and has continued to bird since. The Saturday walks begin at 8 a.m. from the parking lot at the park's visitors center. We had good looks at all of the following: Chimney Swift Mockingbird Starling Northern Flicker Blue Jay Carolina Wren Mourning Dove Eastern Bluebird Palm Warbler Yellow-rumped Warbler Mallard Duck Carolina Chickadee Bald Eagle Osprey Canada Geese Goldfinch Red-tailed Hawk Red-bellied Woodpecker Crow Yellow-bellied Sapsucker American Robin Northern Cardinal Song Sparrow Tennessee Warbler Downy Woodpecker Bryan Stevens, Hampton, TN
