Just a few days ago I asked my brother Herb Erwin in a phone call if he had heard any Sandhill cranes yet this fall near his home on Watts Bar Lake at Spring City TN. (upriver from Hiwassee Is./Blythe Ferry) He had heard none up to that time, but he reports seeing some last evening (Nov 20). "Yes, the sandhills are moving, cranes that is, a flight of approximately seventy five passed over as we were walking last P.M. They made a flight re-adjustment, and after much discussion, five birds from midway back moved up to the point of the "V" then flew on in direction of the Hiwassee Island Refuge, Thought You would like to know, " Mary Erwin Kingsport TN ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
