Gil Derouen and I spent the morning birding Unaka Mountain.  Highlights:

Blue Jay                                           2
Raven                                                1
Red-breasted Nuthatch                   1
Wood Thrush                                   2
Veery                                                 6
Catbird                                              2
Ovenbird                                            3
Hooded Warbler                               2
Black-throated Blue Warbler           5
Black-throated Green Warbler         1
Black-and-White Warbler                1
Canada Warbler                                 4
Indigo Bunting                                   2

In addition, we saw a Turkey Vulture, Robins, Towhees, Juncos, and Goldfinch.
We had a likely Barred Owl just as we drove onto Red Fork Drive from Hwy 107--we saw it fly several times from tree to tree, but, with all the foliage, never could get a look at it sitting or a good enough look when it was flying to be sure of its identity.
One Least Flycatcher was at Beauty Spot and the other was at the burned over area just shortly before coming off the Forest Service Rd. to Hwy 395 going to Erwin.
