Gil Derouen, Charles Moore, Jim Anderson, and I spent the morning on Unaka Mountain--Highlights:
Ruffed Grouse         1 hen,  3 young birds (about half grown)
Broad-winged Hawk                  1
R.. T. Hummingbird                 14       at least
Acadian Flycatcher                    3
Red-breasted Nuthatch              1
White-breasted Nuthatch           1
Raven                                           4
Barn Swallow                              4
Blue-headed Vireo                      1
Red-eyed Vireo                          1
Wood Thrush                             2

We had a short rain shower on top, but overall, it was a great day for birding.
