I couldn't resist sneaking out to see if the Ross' Goose and the Greater White-fronted Geese were still where Rick Knight had found them this morning. At 2:51 I spooted both species - along with +40- Canada Geese. The location is at the intersection of Picken's Bridge Road and Crouch Road in the Boones Creek Area (Washington County). If coming from Johnson City take Hwy 36 (old Kingsport Hwy)to Pickens Bridge Rd and make a right onto Picken's Bridge Road (Next to Zacks Furniture). (From Kingsport you would turn left.) Follow this road until you reach Couch Rd. Make a left and the birds were in the field directly on the left. The Canada Geese were on the side of the hill and near the top was the Ross' Goose and 3 Greater White-fronted Geese. With the rain still present they didn't look in a hurry to go anywhere and the Ross' Goose had put its head on its back. If you were coming from Bristol/Blountville via the back roads - take Picken's Bridge Rd to Couch Rd and make a right. Then look at the field on the left. The Greater White-fronted Geese was another Life Bird. 3 for 3. Not bad extention on a Great Weekend.
