Rooty Branch pond water level has fallen 23 Apr 2015.jpg

The standing water level at the Rooty Branch Wetlands (aka Beaver

Pond) located on Thomas Creek at the intersection of Rooty Branch Rd.

and Pemberton Rd. in eastern Sullivan County, TN has disappeared. I saw

no apparent dig out of the beaver dam. However, a drainage ditch

well up the road in the field had been mechanically dug out. There

remains a possibility that flooding of the area during the weekend had

washed out some barrier area. The beavers usually rush to repair

damage to their dam. The permanent pond. fed by a spring near the

road, remains at full pool.
