This morning, Jonathan and I birded Roan Mountain (Carter County). Here are
some of the highlights.
Visitor Center:
Hooded Warbler - 1
Black-and-white Warbler - 2
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 1
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1
Many other unID'd warblers seen on the Cloudland's Nature Trail. They were
high up in the tree canopy.
Picnic Shelter #1:
Common Yellowthroat - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1
Hooded Warbler - 1
Carver's Gap:
Common Yellowthroat - 1
Common Raven - 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 1
Tennessee Warbler - 1
We also counted 350+ Swainson's Thrush flight calls, as well as several
migrating unID'd warblers before dawn in our yard in Washington County.
