Hi folks, This morning the Bobcat reappeared by our bird feeders. It was hidden but I noticed that squirrels were reluctant to leave the trees and eat the food on the ground. Suddenly, the Bobcat appeared and climbed a tree after a gray squirrel. The squirrel was too quick, however! The Bobcat gave up the chase at about 12 feet above the ground, turned around and returned to earth. It disappeared behind the trees, and may have waited there for a while because the squirrels did not resume feeding for at least 15-20 minutes. Good birds include the Whip-poor-Will again last night, and today the Y-b Cuckoo, Indigo Buntings, Ruby-throated Hummers, Red-eyed Vireo, Chipping Sparrows were back along with a Great Blue Heron. There may have been more around, but I did not hear them due to use of "weed-whacker" and mower most of the day. Hope all is well with all BBCers! John Moyle Glen Alpine Road Kingsport/Sullivan County
