[Bristol-Birds] Report on Herndon Bird Club Field Trip Sat, Feb. 18

Members of the Herndon Bird Club spend yesterday morning (Feb. 18) birding 
western Washington Co, TN.  The following is a list of species observed.  Spots 
checked included Bush Hog Pond on Precision Blvd., Henderson Marsh, Bowmantown 
area, Kyker Rd., Westview Pond, Smithdale Rds, Keebler Rd, and other areas 
around Limestone.

This is a total of 43 species.  Highlights included 8 Red-tailed Hawks, 5 Am. 
Kestrels, 2 Cooper's Hawks, a Northern Harrier, 27 Wilson's Snipe (at Bush Hog 
Pond), 2 Red-headed Woodpeckers, and numerous Horned Larks along Keebler Road.  

The warm, sunny February weather was appreciated by all.  Participants included 
Charles Moore, Brookie and Jean Potter, Rick Knight, Jim and Darla Anderson, 
Reece Jamerson, Jesse Mason, Jacki Hinshaw, Jim D. Anderson, and Roy Knispel.  
Participants had lunch at the Mountain View Restaurant.  Special thanks to Rick 
Knight for leading the trip.
