Today while checking turtle traps at Steele Creek Park, King College
student Logan Webb and Kevin Elam observed a Red-tailed Hawk eating a
recently captured Mallard. The hawk was found below the playground
nearest to the Lodge just beside the railroad track. The bird let me
get within about 15 feet to get the picture.

We will be having a program on grasslands at the park on this Saturday
at 10:30 am if anyone is interested. We will be setting small mammal
traps for the program.

Kevin
