Ten Islands, Cocke County, 10/8/10, 5-7 PM, by canoe
Lake elevation: 973.9 ft.

Shorebirds appear to have taken a favorable wind to the south. There were few
to be found, but a RED PHALAROPE was again present, maybe waiting for a west
wind blowing toward the Atlantic. Cormorant numbers continue to increase.

Partial list:
Wood duck (5)
Blue-winged teal (9)
Double-crested cormorant (290)
Great blue heron (27)
Great egret (150)
Killdeer (7)
Least sandpiper (3)
Pectoral sandpiper (6)
Red phalarope
Ring-billed gull (32)
