Rankin area, Cocke & Hamblen counties, 5/27/11, by canoe
Douglas elevation: 990.6 - mudflats & shallows broadening

The best birding days have begun here- shorebird numbers increasing, with an 
early SEMIPALMATED PLOVER; more long-legged waders, including some LITTLE BLUE 
HERONS, among them a blue-swatched molting juvenile; and many now-vocal GREEN 
HERONS.
