Area Birders, This morning another Pine Siskin made an appearance among the 108 goldfinches at the sunflower seed feeder in my yard. This is the third one within a week's time. The first Brown Thrasher of the season also showed up under the feeder this morning. A few of these birds do overwinter in the lower valleys, but here at an elevation of 2400 ft. we don't see them until they move in about this time each year. A pair usually nests somewhere around the yard. A few of the wintering 17 or so Purple Finches fed this morning as well. Now if I could only get a few Purple Martins to set up housekeeping in my martin house or gourds. Enjoy the birds, Roger Mayhorn Grundy, VA ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST Bristol Birds Net Photo Gallery located at: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jwcoffeyy/album?.dir=/efd5 This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. -------------------------------------------------- You are subscribed to Bristol-Birds.
