After watching it a few more times, I think it is a Rock Pigeon. It lacks the black wing bars of the typical form but does have the white spot at the base of the bill. Saturday evening about dusk it flew into the woods. Sunday morning, it flew out of the woods with a soft woo-woo call and headed to the pasture where I had seen it earlier. I haven’t seen it since. Rock Pigeons are not common here in our rural mountains. In fact, I've never seen one on or around our property here.

It was quite dark with lighter silvery gray-blue wings and band at the end of it's tail. It's bill appeared to be yellow. I did not see a white rump. It looked like a combination of the Rock Dove and the Band-tailed Pigeon.
