January 21, 2008 Yesterday, January 20, I found an Osprey at Allen's Bridge on the Nolichuckey River in Greene County. This is my first January record for the species since I began keeping records here in 1994. There are scattered winter records of Osprey in Greene County but almost always in December. Also present yesterday was a Double-crested Cormorant at Kinser Park. DCCO are irregular and never abundant here, so every observation is rather notable. Today, a Fox Sparrow was present at one of our feeders in Greeneville, driven in, probably, by the cold weather.
