Area Birders, 31 species made appearances in my yard this morning. The most surprising was an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, which was a first. The only other warbler species present were 1 TENNESSEE and 12 YELLOW-RUMPS. A BLUE-HEADED VIREO dropped by and gave me excellent looks. Another vireo in the top of a locust never gave me great looks, but from what I saw it was probably a Warbling Vireo. A female YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER showed up in a walnut tree, and a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET hopped about in the large Cedar tree. 1 immature male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK came through but didn't stay long. I heard only one SWAINSON'S THRUSH this morning where there have been several. Enjoy the birds, Roger Mayhorn Grundy, VA ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
