Hey birders: About the eagle part of that last message. Last night, Kevin Hamed and I were at a meeting of a number of conservationists when Eddie Williams, a prominent attorney and former legal advisor to the governor of Tennessee on his staff in Nashville, told me an interesting Bald Eagle story. Seems as how he had spotted a Bald Eagle along the South Fork of Holston River near his home upstream from Bluff City. He went to get his binoculars. He met a fisherman from Virginia who was looking at the eagle. Well, of course, you guess that! It was Ron Harrington of Bristol who reported that bird right here on the Bristol Birds area net. I was pleased to know who that fisherman was when Williams couldn't think of his name. "Ron Harrington?" I suggested. "That's right. That's who it was. How did you come up with his name?" Williams said in amazement. "I read it on the internet," :-) He went on to say he had also met Glen Eller and Rick Knight along the river while they were doing a Christmas bird count. Mercy.......big brother's watching!
