Bristol Area Birders:

Leslie Burrell, who was hired October 6 as a naturalist at the Steele Creek
Park Nature Center in Bristol, TN, has resigned that position.

She turned in her resignation on Thursday, Oct. 23 (two weeks after having
arrived on the job) and left that same day.

It has been reported that the Bristol Tennessee Department of Leisure
Services is reconsidering previous appliacants.

Burrell came to the position from Norris State Park in Tennessee where she
had been a park ranger.

The naturalist position at Steele Creek Park Nature Center was held by Kevin
Hamed who was there eight years until he took a teaching position on the
faculty of Virginia Highlands Community College this past August.

Let's go birding.....
