Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Ron Harrington

Observers: Harry Scott, Jeremy Keller, Kingslely Rutters, Sam Evans

Visitors:
Pleased to report that Dr. Malcolm Jones, now 88 years old, showed up
during the morning to visit awhile. He use to be a regular and a good
observer. He was accompanied by Silvia & Bobby Rotenberry.

Weather:
It was another “high sky” day with no clouds until the heat of the day when
a few small, wispy “thermal clouds” appeared over the mountain. They soon
dissipated. Sunny and warm but a cool breeze made conditions pleasant.

Raptor Observations:
Most of the birds were seen between 11:00 am EDT and 2:00 pm EDT. No hawks
were seen between 2:00 pm EDT and 4:00 pm EDT. Birds seen towards the end
of the 2:00 pm hour were so high they “disappeared” while soaring up on the
high thermals.

Non-raptor Observations:
Long time Mendota Official Counter Thomas O. Hunter passed away this
morning.
