A good recipe for homemade suet that is a favorite.

1 cup crunchy peanut butter
2 cups quick cook oats
2 cups cornmeal
1 cup lard
1 cup white flour
1/3 cup sugar

Melt the lard and peanut butter over low heat or in a microwave. Stir in the remaining ingredients and pour into square freezer containers about 1½ " thick to fit your suet basket. Store in freezer or refrigerator. Makes about 8 cakes. This suet will not melt or run in the summer, and is a great source of protein for young birds as well as their parents.
