Musick's on South Holston Lake
Sullivan Co., TN

Long-tailed Duck - 11
Red-throated Loon - 1
Merlin - 1

The Long-tailed Ducks were first seen late yesterday at great distance
by Roy Knispel. Today they were seen closer and in better light by several
local birders. This is one of the largest groups of Long-tails ever found
locally; there are records of 12 birds on 1-17-76 at Watauga Lake & 13 birds
on 1-7-68 at South Holston Lake. There are now about 46 records in the
5-county area of NE Tenn.

There are now about 30 records of Red-thr. Loon in the 5-county area.
Most are of single birds.
