After leaving the Red-Shouldered Hawk Nest, I walked the Kingsport Greenbelt to view the nest from the walking path (however, no angles from the path). However, God did provide. Saw a pair of Wood Ducks, and throughout the whole path maybe 15-20; single, pair and once the group ahead of me scared off a pack of 5males/1female. Saw a Mother Duck with 1chick, although they said several last Sunday. Couple dozen Mallards, male and female One Great Blue Heron Cardinals, BlueJays, Downy and Red-bellied Woodpeckers Many Canadian Geese and 11 Big White Ducks E Bluebirds, Robins, Rock Pigeons, Mourning Doves, Sparrows and Finches of various kinds and that Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher Heard two Pileated and saw one in flight-wooded trees In addition to the many turtles, squirrel and a groundhog, the Butterflies were out - a Question Mark, the yellow Swallowtail and many white and yellow ones and small brown ones, but I could not decipher in flight. Walk is long or short, depending on how much time you have. I probably clocked at least 5miles. There is a small nice waterfall. Many nesting boxes but no Owls. Couple ladies were painting the trees, which also are many and beautiful. Nata Jackson Greene County
