To all birders of the region:

We hope you will gather with Bristol Bird Club members at Mike Poe's home near
Tri-Cities Airport Saturday night for the BBC's big, annual, region-wide
Christmas party for all birders everywhere. Saturday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. to 11
p.m. are the official hours. Bring a covered dish. Bring your mother-in-law.
Bring the city dog catcher. Call the law. Bring your best birding friend !

This is very serious. This is Christmas spirit with the jolly old Santa from
Rosedale, VA. This is the social event of the year for birders everywhere.

This is the time when biders everywhere go crazy and wild with Christmas
spirit, fun, food and foolishness.
Nothing spells the Christmas season nearly so well as Mary Jane Funtime Girl
who first got the spirit of BBC excitement at the wild BBC parties at Larry Mad
Dog McDaniel's famous birder's Party Dopwn Mansion when he lived a free, fancy
and fun single life in Bristol back in the good old days. No one will ever
forget the good times when we were all young, foolish and fun-loving birders of
the best sorts. Larry was the BBC's first host twelve years ago and original
partytime, goodtime chief of the Bristol Bird Club. Mr. Christmas Excitement !

Mad Dog and the Bristol Bird Club crew gave the word party a new definition for
Webster's Dictionary. Actually the definition was written by Rob Biller with a
magic marker on the kitchen wall of Larry's house. Larry loved it ! The
birders cheered all night.

At Master Birder Mike Poe's invitation to dance 'til dawn, McDaniel and Biller
have teamed with Wild Dave Worley to put on a bash that birders will never
forget.

Ms. Mary Jane will be in charge of social graces for the evening. The lovely
Dr. Janet Brown will serve as the buffet coordinator and food monitor. All
incoming plates of delicious food must pass her critical inspection. That is
why we ask everyone to bring TWO dishes. If one is rejected, the other will
probably pass. No one has ever had both their covered dishes thrown in the
garbage before the party even started. Actually, Mad Dog, the original party
animal, fell in the carbage can one night but that is another story.

Santa's big red sleigh comes over the treetops from Rosedale, Va. for a landing
approach near the airport! This is the official designated touchdown of the
Bristol Bird Club Regional Christmas Party !

There will be no complaints from Santa as to how to find Mike Poe's house. On
quiet nights he usually has to follow the calling hoot owls as beacons to our
party house. Not this year. Not even in a good fog on a windy night. Not
even in your dreams!

You haven't begun to hear about the BBC Annual Regional Christmas Party. Stay
tuned! It is Christmas time in the mountains ;-) We'll have much more for you
in a day or so.

Let's go partying....

Merry Christmas to all........
