Big Stone Gap, VA  3/15/2012

320pm - a mixed kettle of vultures drifted out of the east from the head of
Powell Valley and clustered over Union High School. Number nearly 100.

2 killdeer on the ground.  Nesting may be disrupted by construction of new
Union HS

6 bluebirds foraging on and around the Union HS campus

cedar waxwings feeding in decorative hollies at UHS

Cardinals, starlings, flickers, red bellied woodpecker, a multitude of robins
at my home near UHS

The nesting area of GBH near the South Fork Powell River and Butcher Fork
confluence has 6 active nests now.  I am having a hard time seeing any birds as
the tree buds swell.
