Sunday I had a bird bobbing its tail, that at distant glance I thought was a Phoebe. But when it flew closer I saw 2 bold wing bars and some yellow wash on its olive back. I then thought flycatcher. When it turned around, it was yellow from throat to tail. It appeared to be larger than most flycatchers, but not as large as a Phoebe. After looking at every possible bird I could come up with, I can not call it. I think it was too large to be a yellow-bellied flycatcher, though that was my first choice by field marks. According to field guides the yellow-bellied is smaller than all flycatchers, except Least. I know it is hard to judge size when nothing is there to compare. What do you think or suggest?
