[Bristol-Birds] Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge Field Trip

Hello birders!  Though we had a somewhat sunny day, the temperature was a 
chilly 30 - 34 degrees and a little windy.  Only relatively wide river areas 
were unfrozen.  We left shortly after noon, when we had surveyed all the major 
areas.  Present on the trip with me were J. G. and Debi Campbell, Neal and Jean 
Henson!

This is our bird list and approximate totals:  Graylag Goose (2), Canada Goose 
(many), American Black Duck ( a dozen or so), Mallard (1000 plus), Green-winged 
Teal (5), Canvasback (1), Bufflehead (9), Wild Turkey (9), Double-crested 
Cormorant (12+), Great Blue Heron (6), Black Vulture (15), Turkey Vulture (4), 
Bald Eagle (4 Im.), Red-shouldered Hawk (1), American Kestrel (1), American 
Coot (several), Sandhill Crane (1000+), Ring-billed Gull (about 2 dozen), 
Mourning Dove (10), Red-bellied Woodpecker (1), Blue Jay (5 or 6), American 
Crow (30 or so), Carolina Chickadee (5), Red-breasted Nuthatch (1), Carolina 
Wren (2), Golden-crowned Kinglet (2), Eastern Bluebird (3), Hermit Thrush (1), 
American Robin (Dozens), Northern Mockingbird (8), European Starling (100 or 
so), Cedar Waxwing (6 or so), Yellow-rumped Warbler (1), Eastern Towhee (2), 
Northern Cardinal (about a dozen), and Eastern Meadowlark (2).
