The regular monthly meeting of the Herndon Bird Club is this Tuesday, January 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the Science Building at Milligan College. Come up the entry road into the College, turn right just past the Gregory Center (on the right) into the parking lot. The Science Building is straight ahead as you come into the parking lot. The meeting will be in a room on the right just as you enter the Science Building.
Agenda items will include planning possible field trips for January, preliminary discussion of the banquet, report on the calendar project, and awarding Howard P. Langridge Awards to those who were able to observe at least 200 species of birds in the 5-county (Washington, Sullivan, Carter, Unicoi, and Johnson) area of Upper Northeast Tennessee in 2014.
Club members Jacki Hinshaw and Rick Knight will present a travelogue on their birding trip to Michigan for Kirtland's Warbler, and traveling and birding on Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula in May, 2013.
Prior to the meeting, interested attendees will meet for dinner and socializing at 5:30 p.m. at ARBY's on South Roan in Johnson City--across from the ONE STOP store.
