The Herndon Bird Club's regular monthly meeting is this Tuesday, February 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Science Building at Milligan College in Elizabethton. Come up the entry road into the College, turn right just past the Gregory Center (on the right) into the parking lot. The Science Building is straight ahead as you come into the parking lot. The meeting will be in a room on the right just as you enter the Science Building. Agenda items include discussion of the banquet and a possible field trip.

Our program is a departure from our normal topics on birding--The topic is insects of the order odonata--Dragonflies and Damselflies. This presentation promises to be most interesting. Our speaker will be Lewis Tester, who has a long-time interest in nature and nature photography. Five years ago, attendance at a Dragonfly Day at Warriors' Path State Park inspired him to become especially interested in dragonflies and damselflies . He has focused on and pursued this interest since and has 50 records with photographs of species of this order posted on the website www.odonatacentral.org. With his presentation, entitled "Getting to know Odes" he will share with us his interest in and experience with the insects of order odonata.

Prior to the meeting, interested attendees will meet for dinner and socializing at 5:30 p.m. at ARBY's on South Roan in Johnson City--across from the ONE STOP store.

ALL ARE INVITED to the MEETING AND TO ARBY'S for dinner beforehand. If you have questions on club activities or the meeting, please feel free to call me or send me email. Thank you.
