The Herndon Bird Club will have a field trip for waterfowl in Sullivan County
this Saturday, January 12.
Meet at the Weir Dam parking lot at 8:00 a.m. We will bird the Weir Dam area
and Osceola Island, check the Holston Lake overlook, Paddle Creek, and
Middlebrook Lake, have lunch at an area eating spot, and go to Musick's
Campground after lunch. Target birds are the waterfowl, gulls and other birds
in these areas.
Grebes, Common Loons, E. Screech Owl, and a number of species of diving and
puddle ducks have been seen in these areas this year.
