Today was made to order for birding at Musick's Campground and the Weir Dam
near Abingdon. Not only was the weather perfect, but two life birds decided
they would become members on my list. I identified three Red-breasted
Mergansers and three Eared Grebes on the lake at the campground. Other birds
spotted included Ring-billed gulls (95), Ring-necked ducks (13), and several
Canada Geese. At the Weir Dam I saw Bufflehead (85), American Wigeon (10),
Canada Geese (4), Ring-necked Ducks (3), and Mallards (3). A short walk on
the trail yielded two Golden-crowned Kinglets as well as chickadees,
titmice, sparrows, etc.

Good Birding,
