Area Birders,
A new first record was set yesterday for Buchanan County Birding, when David
Raines of the Breaks community saw a Gray Catbird near his small yard pond. The
bird drank then shortly left the area. David did manage to take a photo of the
bird. This is the first record of a Gray Catbird having been found within the
county after the fall migration. Also at the nearby feeder David had a Brewer's
Blackbird, 5 Rusty Blackbirds and 2 Chipping Sparrows. He was surprised to have
such unusual birds in his yard on the same day.
Enjoy the birds,
Roger Mayhorn
