Greetings, This morning as I was looking at the birds on my back deck I saw an adult Golden Eagle fly over my backyard and over the lake to land on a tree on the far shore. What a truly majestic bird, and a what a way to start off the day! Yesterday I saw some waterfowl movement: About half of Claytor lake is frozen over but the main body is open in my area and north to the dam. Mouth of Peak creek & Dehaven park: Common Merganser - 10 American Coot - 12 Bufflehead -13 Ruddy Duck - 3 Pied-billed grebe - 8 Gadwall - 1 Feeders: Lots of everything, 1 fox sparrow and 1 adult male purple finch continue, but not daily.
