Hi Folks:

Here is the preliminary report of the Glade Spring CBC which was held on
Tuesday, December 29, 2009. The best bird of the day was the Bald Eagle, found
by Marty Huber and Jo Ann Detta. The area high count went to Ed Morgan and his
team, Area C.

A complete report with some analysis will be forthcoming.

Thanks to all who participated. It was a cold, but dry day. The low was 26
degrees, the high 32. The number of species counted was 59, compared to 72 last
year. This is an 18% drop. Individual birds counted came to 5,326, compared to
6,916 last year. This is a 23% drop.
