Subject: [TN-Bird] Warblerfest in Kingsport!

TN-birders,
Dollyann and I went to the riverside greenway in Kingsport, Sullivan County
today to look for the recently found Virginia's Warbler. We got there about
noon and there were still several birders in the area. The Virginia's was
seen multiple times during the day, but we didn't catch up to it until
about 3 PM, at the beginning of the foot bridge across the river, where it
moved around the trees for a good 15 minutes or so, before flying off
across the busy street above.
We went back to the parking area under the I-26 bridge, and decided to try
for a Northern Parula that was reported earlier in the day. This was just
upstream of the restaurant. We didn't find the parula, nor a Lincoln's
Sparrow reported from the same area, but after a few minutes I spotted a
Prairie Warbler. That made a total of 8 species of warblers in the area!
All this despite temps that never got above 22 for the day. Go figure.
