The lake was mostly frozen during February, but is now thawed. Several species of waterfowl are becoming more frequent including wood duck, lesser scaup, and American coot. The past week has seen many American robins and red-winged blackbirds feeding in nearby fields. A few rusty blackbirds can be found in the marsh. Twice this last week I have seen large flocks of horned larks in the Hall Farm fields.
