I walked around the Bible Refuge after work yesterday. All the pools are grown up with grass so no mud or sand banks for shorebirds. Only shorebird was a Killdeer fly by. The remains of a barn owl was visible in the nest box which earlier had 3 young birds. One live barn owl was observed. Nice looks at Blue Grosbeaks and plenty of Indigo Buntings and Dickcissels around. The Bank Swallows are starting to congregate on the power lines. Enjoyed the cool weather.
