From: "Ed Schneider" To: "tn bird" Sent: May 22, 2011 01:39 Subject: [TN-Bird] Brown Creeper SongWhile on a short trip in NE-TN this past week (I had a blast despite the weather!), I noticed that the breeding population of Brown Creepers tend to sing the song of the "western" population more so than the "eastern". Has anyone else noticed this? It was my first time in TN within the territory of these birds. My only other experience (since I've been birding) was in Newfoundland, and they seemed to only sing the "typical" eastern song, in which the pitch descends at the end. The birds on Unaka Mountain and also at Carver's Gap sang with a definite ascending tone at the end....
