[Bristol-Birds] Field parties enjoy good results for Herndon Spring Bird County (9 May 2015)

A dozen birders gathered at the Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area park
in Elizabethton a the picnic tables under the trees Tuesday, 12 May 2015, to
compile the Elizabethton Spring Count held Saturday, May 9.
The coverage area was Carter County and parts of adjacent Johnson, Sullivan,
Unicoi,
and Washington counties.
The Herndon Chapter bird club had 48 members and guest participate in 10
parties
Saturday. A final summary of the count will be posted in a few days after
all numbers
and species are reviewed.

Good field results already available include the field party of Joe
McGuiness which
covered Unicoi County and a few adjacent sites in Carter County to tally 106
species.
That group included: Diane Draper, Don Holt, David Kirschke, Vern Maddux,
McGuiness , Kathy Noblet, Brian Rivera, and Kim Stroud.
Glen Eller's field party covered Shady Valley and eastern Sullivan County
and had
a total of 110 species. That group included: Jerry Bivens, Wallace Coffey,
Eller,
Harry Farthing, Richard Lewis, Pete Range and John Shumate, Jr.
